Frequently Asked Questions

A Reining Horse Syndicate is an ownership model where instead of buying 100% of the horse, you are able to purchase fractional interests, or smaller percentages, of the horse. Reining Horse Syndicate horses are split into 10 or 20 fractional interests respresenting 5% to 10% ownership in the horse. A syndicate member may purchase as many fractional interests as are available in any of our offered horses.

1. Lower costs- instead of having to invest tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in the purchase price of a reining horse, and thousands of dollars a month in training, showing and maintenance, you are now able to buy into a reining horse for a few thousand dollars, and only pay fees of a couple hundred dollars a month. This allows owners to enter the sport at a much lower cost, and enjoy affordable ownership.

2. Able to spread your money over multiple horses- because the cost of a fractional interest and monthly fees on a Syndicated Horse is so much cheaper, you are now able to take that same amount of money you would have spent on one privately owned horse and own fractional interests in multiple horses. Imagine being able to attend the NRHA Futurity or Derby and owning 10-20 horses, but it only costing you as much as you would have spent on 1 privately owned horse! Many of the top owners invest in partnerships and syndicates and now you can too!

3. Ownership is more fun with friends- being a sole owner can be a stressful experience that sometimes feels lonely. As a member of a Syndicate you are able to enjoy the ownership experience with multiple people, attend fun Syndicate events with your fellow owners, and relax knowing that your reining horse is being managed full time by a professional.

4. Professional Guidance- Syndicate members can rest assured knowing that they do not need to worry about any paperwork, entries, or upkeep on their Syndicated Horse. Our professional Syndicate Managers handle all of the hassles of ownership so you can relax and just enjoy the perks!

All owners are responsible for all of the costs to keep, train, show, etc. the reining horse(s) that they own fractional interests in. You will receive a monthly bill for your horse’s expenses, but as you only own a small percentage of the horse, you are only responsible for that percentage of the expenses. This makes ownership much more affordable.

Once you have decided that ownership is for you purchasing is easy! Select which horse or horses you would like to join the ownership team on and simply contact the office for a contract. We accept a number of forms of payment including Venmo! Once your payment has cleared we will send you your ownership certificate and you’re all set!

Each Syndicated horse is assigned a Syndicate Manager. This professional will be responsible for all of the day to day decisions, and management, of the horse. You are able to rest assured that your horse is in the best hands with daily monitoring by our Syndicate Manager. The Syndicate Manager will also act as the liason between the owners and the NRHA Professional that the horse is in training with and will provide updates for the owners, can assist in arranging visits, and will organize events and viewings for the owners.

Each owner will have access to a private page for each horse that they own a fracional interest(s) in where they will receive updates from the trainer, show results, as well as videos and photos of the horse. All Syndicate members will be invited to attend shows that the horse competes in, and live feeds will be available for any members not available to attend in person. Owners may also arrange in person visits with their horse(s) through their Syndicate Manager.

Congrats! It is always so exciting when a horse you own wins prize money and awards at an event. The Syndicate Manager will be responsible for keeping records for each Syndicated Horse and they will issue prize money to owners based on the percentage of each owner’s ownership. All owners will have the option to purchase copies of any awards that their horse wins, and customized year end achievement items will be available to purchase as well to commemorate each Syndicated Horse’s show year.

You are always able to sell any fractional interests in a Syndicated Horse through auction or private sale at any time. A Syndicate Manager may also be approached by an owner or trainer wishing to purchase the horse, or a fractional interest, at which time the Syndicate Manager will present any offers to buy any or all fractional interests in a horse to the ownership group.

As with any kind of equestrian investment, a positive ROI (Return On Investment) is always the goal, but never guaranteed. Please never invest more money in a horse than you would be comfortable losing.
